Namasate! I’m Swati
🌿The Beginning
Picture this: winter 2005, six-year-old me, clutching a cup of hot milk and interrogating my family like a pint-sized Sherlock. My dad’s mustache fascinated me, and I kept asking why only men had them. Why is mom’s face smooth? Will my brother sprout one? Why not me? Why are men and women so different?
Thanks to all the home videos my mom made this is my most vivid recollection of being a curious kid who kept asking “why.” Why do people do what they do? Why do things work—or not? This curiosity led me to psychology, where I fell in love with understanding people’s minds and motivations.
🌱 The Spark
During my psychology studies, I discovered Industrial/Organizational Psychology and became fascinated by understanding human behavior at work. But during the pandemic, I felt something was missing—I wanted to apply what I was learning to make life better for others. That’s when I stumbled upon UX Research. It was like the universe whispering: This is it! UX combined with my love for human behavior and my passion for building things that make a difference.
🌀 Taking the Leap
Transitioning wasn’t easy. I left a familiar territory and threw myself into learning new tools, design principles, and research methods. Nights of watching Figma tutorials, running usability tests, and making stacks on stack of flash cards to know the accessibility tools, there where countless moments of wondering if I was good enough… but I kept going.
🔥 Facing the Challenges
There were times I felt lost—like when projects had conflicting goals or when stakeholders doubted the value of research. But these were my dragons to slay. Each challenge taught me resilience, empathy, and the power of clear storytelling to unite a team behind the user.
🌟 Discovering My Power
I started seeing the impact of my work: accessible designs for older adults, tools that helped kids with autism, and research that shifted entire strategies. I realized my superpowers was turning complexity into clarity and helping teams truly understand the people they design for.
🕊 Returning with Purpose
Today, I being everything I’ve learned back to every project I touch—combining psychology, research, human-centered design and the love of finding the answer to my why’s. I believe in creating experiences don’t just work, but feel right. Experiences that welcome everyone.
🌈 Looking Ahead
This journey is far from over. I’m excited for new quests: to partner with passionate teams, champion inclusive design, and keep learning how technology can better serve people.
