My Heroine Journey…

Hello! I’m Swati 👋

I’m a UX Researcher at heart, and for the past 5 years, that curiosity has taken me across healthcare, government, education, and civic tech, understanding why people do what they do and how technology can better serve them. As of now, that research lens also focuses on Conversational AI, where I design chatbots based on real people rather than assumptions.

If that sounds like a journey worth reading about, it starts with a mustache. 👇

Picture this: Winter 2005, six-year-old me, clutching a cup of hot milk, interrogating my family like a pint-sized Sherlock. My dad’s mustache fascinated me — why do men have them? Why not women? Why are people so different?

That relentless why never left me. It led me to psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and eventually to UX Research. It felt like the universe whispering: this is it! The perfect intersection of human behavior, empathy, and building things that actually make a difference.

The transition wasn’t easy. There were times I felt lost—like when projects had conflicting goals, when stakeholders doubted the value of research, and plenty of moments when I wondered if I was good enough. But I kept going.

And it paid off. I’ve worked on accessible designs for older adults, tools for kids with autism, and research that shifted entire product strategies. My superpower? Turning complexity into clarity and helping teams truly understand the people they design for.

Today, I bring all of it to every project I touch: psychology, research, human-centered design, and an endless love for finding answers to my whys.
